Lunenburg keeps up the high artistic standards of design, acting and direction that have characterized all the plays so far at the Foster Festival. Foster has created three complex roles and they have each been ideally cast. Peter Krantz and Catherine McGregor, both longtime veterans of the Shaw Festival, are not appearing at that Festival this year. Instead, they are making their Foster Festival debuts as Charlie and Iris.

The Norm Foster Theatre Festival, the only theatre festival in the world devoted to a Canadian playwright, has opened its second season with the world premiere of Foster’s Screwball Comedy. Screwball Comedy may be atypical of Norm Foster’s usual style but it provides a fantastic showcase for four talented actors and provides one of the best translations of screwball movies to the stage.
